Alhamdulillah, we have been so so buzzzy working hard on our Bee books, we have learnt how a bee flies from flower to flower collecting nectar and pollen Subhan Allah, the pollen is needed to pollinate the other flowers and many fruit and vegetables. The nectar is taken back to the hive where it is churned to be made into honey!! Yum yum..

Subhan Allah, What an interesting way to introduce Geography! We have been exchanging postcards (see yahoo group link below) with homeschooling ummis around the world for a few months now. Finding them on the maps and reading books about the countries has been fun!!

Word for word Qur'an

Alhamdulillah, we have finaly completed our first page of our "Surah flapbook". We thought it would be a good way of trying to understand the Qur'an Insha Allah. We have started with Surah Al Fatiha - The opening chapter.

With the help of the Understand Quran website which details word for word translations alhamdulillah.

We have downloaded a Qur'an dictionary, see 4shared files below which is an excellent resource for word for word Qur'an translations

Spring is here!!

Allah swt reminds us in Surah Nahl: Verse 68."And your Lord inspired the bee, saying "Take you habitations in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect.
and 69. "Then eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you). " There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think."

Subhan Allah, Spring is here! And this year we decided to do our bit to save the bees! We joined the "Save our bees" campaign. Follow the link for more details.

Masha Allah, the Crocus and Hyacinth have flowered. We bought these as bulbs together with other bee friendly plants - Bluebell, Narcissus and Tulips. The bees are not due yet but we will keep an
eye out for them. We have planted other bee-friendly flowers which have sprouted. Insha Allah,
they should be ready in time for the bees...

We were so eager to plant the seeds so we began in February. We are hoping that Allah subhana Wa Ta'ala gives permission for the following seeds to grow into lovely food for the bees.

Echinacea, Forget-me-not, freesia, hollyhock, marigold, petunia and Salvia. We intend to sow sunflower seeds also Insha Allah on Sunday with the "Cool boys Only" Group

We also are trying to grow our own vegetables Insha Allah. I am not much of a green fingered person myself so this is definately an adventure for all of us Alhamdulillah!!

Subhan Allah, we can plant the seed but we can't make it grow by pulling the shoot out, that is completely up to Allah Swt Masha Allah

Cucumbers, Spinach, Sweetcorn and Tomatoes.
May Allah swt bless the little seedlings to grow into someone's rizq Insha Allah.
